Mercy Housing has participated in the development, preservation and/or financing of more than 37,200 affordable homes, both rental and single family, serving more than 128,000 people on any given day.
- An additional 8,911 homes are in the pre-development, construction or concept phase.
- The median annual income of families at Mercy Housing is $19,167. The median annual income of seniors is $12,401; and the median income of special needs residents is $10,439.
- Founded in 1981.
- Developed more than $2.1 billion in affordable real estate.
- 73% of residents are families, 18% are seniors and 9% are people with special needs (people with HIV/AIDS, formerly homeless, and people with physical and mental impairments).
- Mercy Loan Fund has loaned $178 million to not-for-profit developers which they leveraged into $1.37 billion of affordable housing financing and 16,547 homes for 46,703 people.
- Mercy Housing employs more than 1,300 people nationwide.
- We build new developments and acquire and rehabilitate existing housing.
- Property management provided through Mercy Services Corporation.
- On-site Resident Services programs include computer centers, arts programs, health classes, financial education programs, employment initiatives and homeownership seminars and are funded through grants and donations.
- The Mercy Measurement Initiative is an effort to analyze and demonstrate the impact of our Resident Services programs. It tracks programs at 129 Mercy Housing properties across the nation.
- Over the last six years, 28,000 Mercy Housing residents have participated in at least one Resident Services program.
