The Mercy Housing
Colorado Homeownership Program is designed to help potential homeowners
find quality, affordable homes through professional counseling and by working with
pre-screened realtors and lenders who have the residents’ best interests in mind.
The program is possible through the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Mercy Housing Colorado, with financing
from the Mercy Loan Fund,
buys foreclosed homes from HUD at a 15 percent discount from the home’s market price.
Then, Mercy Housing Colorado renovates the home, doing everything from replacing
carpet, windows and screens to certifying the roof to installing new appliances.
We firmly believe in providing quality homes to our new homeowners.
Within three weeks from the date that Mercy Housing Colorado buys each home,
renovations are complete. The newly renovated home then goes on the market at an
affordable cost available to qualifying homeowners.
As of June 2007, all available homes were within the Denver Metro Area. Since 2005,
75 families have become homeowners through this program, and we hope to help 70
more families find affordable homes by the end of 2007.
The Mercy Housing Colorado Homeownership Program would not be possible without the
following partners:
Adams County
Arapahoe County

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
City of Thornton
We also work with the following pre-screened realtors and lenders to help our
