Building Affordable Homes

Building communities through low-income housing opportunities

Building Affordable, Quality HomesFor nearly 30 years, Mercy Housing has been committed to developing affordable, program-enriched housing for low-income families, seniors in need and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities. Mercy Housing's low-income homes take on new meaning, as they enrich and improve the communities in which they are located. We develop every affordable property with an unwavering commitment to quality and value.

Those fortunate enough to have a home know that it is much more than a roof and four walls. It is a haven of privacy and peace, of security and safety, where we can rest at the end of each day. Yet in the United States, 95 million people are homeless or live in substandard housing. And of these people, 43.6 million have annual incomes below $25,000. Often times, they are the people we rely on most - from our daycare workers and store clerks to our local police and school teachers.

Community Home Building ProjectTo build our communities and create affordable housing opportunities, Mercy Housing works with public, private and government partners and developers. To date, Mercy Housing has participated in the development, preservation and/or financing of more than 41,700 affordable homes and an additional 8,847 homes are in the pre-development, construction or concept phase.
