Mercy Housing Lakefront

Moving Forward Together

The economic recession has devastated thousands of families and neighborhoods. Mercy Housing Lakefront continues to work towards addressing this crisis, and we ask that you consider partnering with us.

Your support empowers thousands of individuals like Bridgette. One week away from foreclosure and eviction, she and her sons moved into Mercy Housing Lakefront’s Wentworth Commons Apartments. A case manager worked with Bridgette, connected her to an employment program and ultimately helped her find a job. Today, Bridgette works for Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities. In her work, she gives back by helping others find housing and employment. She tells her clients “don’t give up, keep going. Even through the recession, whatever may come your way, you can get through it.”

Your gift enables us to provide housing and employment counseling to prevent homelessness for over 3,300 residents like Bridgette. In addition, you enable us to restore hope to communities that have been devastated by private market failures. Through our seven-year Moving Forward Together campaign, Mercy Housing is addressing the Chicago and Milwaukee regional foreclosure and housing crisis by working with partners to:

  • Preserve and build 7,500 affordable homes
  • Create 8,000 jobs
  • Prevent displacement or homelessness for 20,000 people

Mercy Housing Lakefront has developed and currently manages 23 properties with nearly 3,300 residents. Mercy Portfolio Services is a national foreclosure response leader and manages the City of Chicago’s $169 million Neighborhood Stabilization Program. Mercy Housing Lakefront and Mercy Portfolio Services are part of Mercy Housing, a national organization that has developed, preserved, and/or financed 41,700 affordable homes.

We cannot meet the housing crisis alone. Please join with us and
donate today so that we can move forward together.
