MERCY HOUSING SOUTHEAST RAISES $40,000 FOR RESIDENT SERVICES
On November 9, 2011, Mercy Housing advocates and leaders convened at the historic Biltmore Hotel in Midtown Atlanta to celebrate the generosity of several, major Mercy Housing Southeast (MHSE) supporters and to raise money for vital Resident Services.
“Mercy Housing Southeast’s 2011 Dinner and Recognition Ceremony was an overwhelming success thanks to the support of its sponsors and guests,” said MHSE Resource Development Manager, Sule Carpenter. “The event raised over $40,000 in support of our Resident Services, which we believe is at the core of Mercy Housing’s vision.”
Mercy Housing’s CEO, Sister Lillian Murphy, RSM, provided a reflection about the need for affordable housing and Keynote Speaker, Mr. David Haddow, CEO and President of Haddow & Company, discussed the condition of Atlanta’s real estate market, providing an honest assessment of current challenges and opportunities.
Another highlight of the evening was the presentation of four awards honoring recipients for their like-minded passion for Mercy Housing’s mission and core values. Honorees included: Legacy Award recipient, Renee Glover, CEO of the Atlanta Housing Authority; Vendor Award recipient, John Moss, President of Interactive Business Technologies; Volunteer Award recipient, Patricia Alamutu of Clark Atlanta University; and the Enduring Spirit Award recipients, the team at the South Rome Redevelopment Corporation.
