Mercy Minute

Mercy Minute - Guadalupe

The start of construction at Mercy Othello Plaza

Othello Start of Construction

The combination of sunny February weather and the start of construction on Mercy Othello Plaza led to smiles and air of celebration last month.

King County Executive Dow Constantine and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray joined Board members, neighborhood leaders, project funders, and elected officials for a ceremonial “golden shovel” photo to mark the start of construction of 108 affordable apartments at the Othello light rail station, scheduled to be completed in Spring 2017.

The ceremony and project were featured in a number of news outlets like The Seattle Times, KIRO7 and the Puget Sound Business Journal highlighting the new project’s impact on the neighborhood, the city and the affordable housing crisis.
