Ameshah, one of Mercy Housing’s summer Out of School Time volunteers, is helping to review the KidzScience curriculum at the end of the day! Volunteers make such a difference for Mercy Housing youth!

Thank you to our Mercy Housing California volunteers who served this year! Whether you served for 3 or 300 hours, your time and talents have made a difference to those who call Mercy Housing home.As the holidays approach, I am reminded to reflect and be grateful for all that was accomplished this year. In 2017, more than 200 generous volunteers from Redding to Los Angeles:

  • Helped youth do better in school and close the summer learning gap
  • Coordinated food bank programs to promote a healthy lifestyle
  • Organized exercise classes and art classes for seniors and those with special needs
  • Came together with their companies and local organizations for a one day project with a big impact.

Thank you to those who have been with us for years, and if you are new, welcome to the Mercy Housing family! With your help, we will continue to provide safe and affordable homes, where residents thrive and communities find hope for generations to come. I look forward to bigger and better things in 2018.

Sincerely,
