Biography of Bruce Schiff

Bruce has more than 30 years of experience in the field of affordable housing finance. In particular, the Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. Throughout his career, Bruce has advised and assisted developers, housing authorities, managers, equity investors and public and private lenders in the financing and management of federally assisted affordable housing.

Bruce is the co-founder, past president and board member of the Illinois Housing Council. IHC works to connect hundreds of member organizations and industry leaders across the state. Bruce worked to develop financing structures to obtain and implement the Illinois Affordable Tax Credit. This work included several properties developed by Mercy Housing Lakefront.

Bruce has been a frequent speaker at the Illinois Housing Council annual conferences, in addition to having been a past speaker at the ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development. Throughout the affordable housing development community, Bruce has been a trusted and respected advisor and ally.
