Moving Forward Together 2025

Annette, a Mercy Housing Lakefront resident, was one of the powerful voices who shared her story of resilience and hope from the stage. “When I was homeless and in the streets, I didn’t have direction. This place gives you direction. They guide you. They welcome you. They become your best and closest friend,” she shared. After moving into her apartment home, Annette received support from resident services staff, which helped her return to school and become a full-time case manager. Today, Annette is thriving, helping women with similar lived experiences, and getting hired as a Mercy Housing Lakefront Community Health Worker.

Spirit of Mercy Award

Edgar Flagg, Vice President of Real Estate Development at Mercy Housing Lakefront, presented Bruce Schiff with the Spirit of Mercy Award, recognizing his decades-long career as an accountant whose leadership and passion for affordable housing and mentorship of affordable housing professionals contributed to the development of thousands of high-quality affordable homes for people in our region.
