Mar 12Breaking ground in Tacoma (again)
In January, Mercy Housing Northwest celebrated the groundbreaking of their newest affordable housing community in Tacoma, 35th & Pacific.
When completed, 35th & Pacific will feature 80 affordable homes across five levels for individuals and families at 30%, 50%, and 60% of area median income. The community will also feature surface parking, a one-story wing market space, and on-site Resident Services and Property Management. 50% of the homes in the community will be two- and three-bedrooms, providing long-term housing for families in Tacoma and Pierce County.

The groundbreaking celebration featured speakers and partners who have been instrumental in making this development a reality. Speakers included, Tacoma Councilmember Sandesh Sadalge, Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello, Pierce County Human Services Director Gary Gant, Pierce County Councilmember Rosie Ayala, and Open Doors for Multicultural Families Development Director Andrea Kassa.
