Cerise speaking at a podium

A new beginning at Pleasant Grove

Cerise Hitzemann is a devoted mother of three and a resident of Pleasant Grove Apartments in Roseville. She holds three degrees in Information Technology and brings warmth, strength, and determination to her daily life and to those around her.

She recently spoke at the community’s grand opening, sharing a story that reflects the purpose behind Pleasant Grove: providing stability, opportunity, and a place for families to thrive.

Originally from Redlands, California, Cerise is the proud mother of three children, BreAna, BrayDon, and Bryce.

Her path to Pleasant Grove was not easy. After leaving a long-term relationship that had become unsafe, she faced a period of uncertainty while working to rebuild her life and create a stable future for her children.

“When we applied, I wasn’t sure what would happen,” she shared. “With rent so high, I worried we might not have many options. Being approved here changed everything.”

For Cerise, Pleasant Grove represents a fresh start.

“The meaning of home has changed for me,” she said. “Home is now a place where we feel safe. It’s where we can find peace and begin to heal.”

She also reflected on the emotional impact of the transition.

“There were moments when I didn’t know what would come next,” she said. “Having this space gave us the chance to breathe again. I want my kids to grow up knowing they are safe. That makes all the difference.”

As she moves forward, Cerise is focused on her children and the life they are building together. She remains grateful for the support she has received and for the opportunity to begin again.

“Living here has truly made a difference in my life,” she said. “I’m thankful every day for this new beginning.”

What once felt uncertain has now become a place of stability. At Pleasant Grove, Cerise and her children are writing a new chapter, one defined by a sense of security and renewed possibility.
