Nov 02Meet our new philanthropy team leaders
We are excited to welcome two new leaders to Mercy Housing Mountain Plains’ philanthropy team.
Kate Li
evens, VP of Regional Philanthropy
Kate joined MHMP in May of this year as Vice President of Philanthropy. Kate brings more than 20 years of experience building relationships, connecting people with meaningful causes, and bringing partners together to make a difference in their communities.
Before joining Mercy Housing, Kate led individual philanthropy at the Denver Scholarship Foundation, where she helped strengthen donor relationships and expand giving opportunities. Throughout her career, she has worked across the nonprofit, hospitality, and real estate sectors, bringing people and organizations together around shared goals.
Kate holds a Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College. She is a 2025 graduate of Leadership Denver and serves on the Development Committee of the Women’s Bean Project. She is also an active member of the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable.
Outside of work, Kate lives in Denver with her husband and two young daughters. We’re excited to have her on the MHMP team and look forward to the impact she’ll help make as we continue advancing our mission of providing quality, affordable homes and building stronger communities.
Caroline Holmes, Major Gifts Director
Caroline joins us most recently from being a Development Director with Power 10 Capital Campaigns, serving as a consultant for large capital campaigns for nonprofits across the country. She has strong experience in quickly establishing and building relationships in new communities; advising board and executive teams on fundraising priorities and strategic plans; and identifying new prospects and securing large gifts while managing a donor pipeline. Prior to her fundraising experience, Caroline practiced family law in Texas and Colorado. Caroline serves on the Associate Board of Girls on the Run here in Denver. Outside of work, Caroline enjoys hiking, biking, camping and skiing in the mountains with her husband and their dog, or relaxing at home with their cat.
Together, Kate and Caroline will help strengthen relationships with donors and partners and support Mercy Housing Mountain Plains’ continued growth and impact across the region.
