Mercy Housing Lakefront partners with community organizations to provide residents with mental health programs that are tailored to the unique needs of each community. One of those mental health partnerships is with Association for Individual Development (AID), a 65-year-old nonprofit organization that serves individuals and families across the Fox Valley in Illinois.
AID has been providing services to residents at Marian Park and Colony Park through the DuPage County Mental Health Program for several years. Based on its success, and with support from the Dunham Foundation, we expanded the partnership with AID to Batavia Apartments through the Kane County Mental Health Program. Group sessions occur once or twice per month and have titles like How to Cope with Anger and Frustration and Making Key Chains. Sessions include an optional hour for residents to meet with case managers or continue the conversation with fellow participants.
In celebration of this successful mental health partnership, Mercy Housing Lakefront was presented with the Outstanding Community Partner Award at the Association for Individual Development (AID) CARES Awards event on May 7, 2026. Mercy Housing Lakefront staff members attended the event and were honored to receive this award on behalf of Mercy Housing Lakefront’s residents, staff, and supporters.
