Oct 13Mercy Housing Lakefront recognized for delivering energy-efficient, affordable homes
On June 30 at Colony Park Apartments, Mercy Housing Lakefront staff accepted the Multi-Family Energy Services (MFES) Premier Partner Award, recognizing a multi-year commitment to delivering energy-efficient, affordable housing across northern Illinois.
Through a strong partnership with ComEd, Nicor Gas, North Shore Gas, and Peoples Gas, Mercy Housing upgraded more than 2,000 units with energy-efficient appliances and equipment — helping to reduce both energy use and utility costs.
The award highlights the success of Mercy Housing’s Green Hope team, who supports sustainability across our communities by reducing energy consumption, lowering carbon emissions, and creating healthier living environments for residents. By combining environmental responsibility with affordable housing, Green Hope demonstrates how sustainability can strengthen both our properties and our mission.
