In partnership and collaboration, lasting solutions are made possible. Through the combined efforts and collaboration with CTY Housing, the State of California Department of Housing, Los Angeles County, and the Housing Authority of Long Beach, we are excited to open Alamitos on 4th—an 82-unit affordable housing community for low-income seniors, including those with lived experience of homelessness in late 2026.   This project exemplifies the type of investment and partnership required to expand supportive housing in Long Beach.

In partnership with Heritage Clinic and LA County Department of Mental Health, residents will have access to Case Managers for support with behavioral health care, crisis intervention, therapeutic groups, substance abuse support, and other referrals. All services are voluntary, with the goal of preventing the cycle of homelessness—an effort Mercy Housing has successfully achieved for 92% of those served at our communities.

All areas of focus are centered on housing success, including eviction prevention, rent relief applications and resources, health and wellness, community engagement, lease education, financial stability, and overall housing stability.

Resident services are central to long-term housing success. A full-time Resident Services Coordinator works alongside case managers to provide tailored support, including eviction prevention, health and wellness programs, and restorative justice practices. Food access is prioritized with food pantries, nutrition classes, and garden programs. Staff receive cross-training in PSH best practices, fair housing, and crisis response to foster collaboration and ensure equitable, person-centered care across the community.
