The Volunteer Coordinator will connect you with a Resident Services Coordinator. Complete the background paperwork.

3. Attend an Orientation

Attend an orientation session, which will be held at your volunteer site.

Spend time with K-12 youth in Mercy Housing California’s Out-of-School Time programs. Engage children in activities that may include: homework assistance, STEM, art, dance, yoga, and more.

The Leader

The Leader

Share his/her expertise (artistic, fitness, legal, artistic, or otherwise) with Mercy Housing California residents by hosting a class or workshop at a Mercy Housing community!

The Philanthropist

The Philanthropist

Greek organizations and social groups — host an event on campus or at your organization that will bring awareness to our programs and services, and assists with coordinating community service projects at a Mercy Housing California community.

The Giver

Organizations and groups — match your resources (backpacks, school supplies, welcome baskets, holiday decorations, and more) and availability with the needs of your adopted building.

The Industry Mentor

The Industry Mentor

Organizations — engage youth residents in industry tours, mock interviews, tech workshops, or bring volunteers from your organization to an Out-of-School Time site for career exploration Q&A.

The Gardener

The Gardener

Organizations and groups — help with beautifying communities and sprucing up edible gardens. Gardeners may dig many opportunities including: clean-up days, planting days, painting, teaching gardening to youth and more!

The Host(ess)

Invite people in your circle and host a private event at your home or favorite venue to raise funds for Mercy Housing California. You handpick the guests, and we will guide you through the event planning process.

The Athlete

Engages Mercy Housing residents in healthy activities, whether playing outdoor games with children in Out-of-School Time programs, or leading adult residents in yoga, Zumba, or tai chi.

Help with the operations of food bank distribution — ensuring residents have access to healthy produce and pantry items.
