Gunnar Tande serves as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President, overseeing the Information Technology and Strategic Management Team. Gunnar is responsible for Mercy Housing’s technology and strategic solutions and the execution of Mercy Housing’s Strategic Plan. Gunnar joined Mercy Housing in 2012 and served as Vice President of the Strategic Solutions Delivery Team before assuming the CIO role in May of 2017. Gunnar brings over 19 years of project leadership experience across multiple industries to his role.

Prior to joining Mercy Housing, Gunnar delivered strategic solutions for Charles Schwab, one of the largest brokerage firms in the United States. Gunnar assumed key roles over the span of 13 years, helping drive Schwab’s growth to $3 trillion in client assets. Gunnar contributed to the success of Schwab Investor Relations and Schwab Technology while based in San Francisco, and then relocated to Denver to help launch Schwab Bank and eventually supported the Schwab Institutional organization. Gunnar was also responsible for delivering efficiencies and improvements for Pulte Financial Services, which finances new home construction for customers of Pulte Homes, one of the largest home builders in the U.S.

Gunnar received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/International Business from the University of Southern Mississippi and received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Denver.

Outside of the office, Gunnar loves spending time with his family. He also enjoys biking, skiing, soccer and traveling.
