Cheryll O’Bryan

Cheryll O’Bryan came to Mercy Housing in 2007 and is currently responsible for the property management group, Mercy Housing Management Group (MHM), managing approximately 18,000+ units of multifamily rental housing and over 1,000 employees. Over the last three decades, Cheryll has worked with some of the largest for-profit property management companies in the nation and developed successful management platforms in several organizations including Elkor Properties, Equity Residential, NHP Management and Empirian Property Management. Her portfolio oversight has encompassed over 75,000 units in 20 states.

Christopher Reed, CPM®, NAHP-e Senior Vice President

Christopher Reed came to MHM in 2007 and currently serves 
as Senior Vice President of Operations, supervising property management operations nationwide. Christopher’s experience in the multi-family industry spans 25 years and 22 states. Prior to joining MHM, Christopher worked with several national real estate companies, including Equity Residential and Lexford Residential Trust, where he provided management oversight in all facets of property management operations for multiple 10,000+ unit portfolios.

Shawn Smitley Regional Vice President of Property Operations, Southeast

Shawn Smitley is the Regional Vice President of our Southeast portfolio, currently in Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Shawn joined Mercy Housing in 2007 as the Controller/Vice President over Real Estate Accounting and oversaw both property operations and development accounting for four years. Shawn’s experience encompasses Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Historic, New Market and Energy Tax Credits. He is also knowledgeable of HUD, RD, Investor and other regulatory agency reporting.

Robert Jacoby, C.P.M. Vice President, Procurement

Robert Jacoby is responsible for developing and implementing national purchasing programs focused on process and material standardization in an effort to achieve optimum efficiency and cost reduction. He negotiates national and regional contracts for products and services to ensure all purchases reflect the most favorable combination of price, quality and delivery for all of MHM’s managed properties. Robert has nearly 30 years of progressive supply management experience in service, manufacturing and construction environments. Prior to joining MHM, Robert led procurement teams for AT&T, MediaOne, Continental Cablevision and Adelphia Communications.

Kevin WeishaarKevin Weishaar Regional Vice President of Property Operations, Northwest

Kevin Weishaar is the Regional Vice President for the Northwest portfolio, based in Washington state and consisting of 51 properties and over 2,000 units of Family, Senior, Disabled, Homeless, Rural Development, HUD, HOME, Bond, and tax credit affordable homes along with commercial space, plus another 3 projects and 329 units currently in development.  Kevin joined Mercy Housing in 2014 after 10 years doing both Property & Asset Management for a portfolio of more than 40 properties throughout the Western US, including both Market-Rate and Affordable housing. Kevin previously served in key positions such as Director of Operations, Area Manager, Senior Asset Manager, Business Development Manager and Designated Broker for 3 states.  His responsibilities encompassed more than 10,000 units, in seven states, overseeing all Regional Managers and Facilities Team Members plus at times HR, Compliance, and Accounting departments.

Jacquie Hoffman Regional Vice President of Property Operations, California 

Jacquie Hoffman brings over 20 years of experience with Mercy Housing, in both Property Operations and Resident Services. Jacquie oversees a major segment of the Mercy Housing California Portfolio including the San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California. Jacquie worked directly on the lease ups and acquisition transitions of several of Mercy Housing’s first PSH and mixed PSH projects in CA including Mission Creek (seniors), Bayview Hill Garden (MHSA/families), 1180 Fourth Street (families), El Monte Veterans Village (single adult veterans) and The Arlington Hotel (single adult/Chron A). Having served for two years as president of the board for the Non Profit Housing Association (NPH), Jacquie is committed to supporting and promoting sustainable, affordable housing that serves all people in need in California. She has several housing certifications and is also an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ.

Michael Liebe Regional Vice President of Property Operations, California

Michael Liebe joined MHM in 2005 and is currently one of MHM’s Regional Vice Presidents for the California portfolio of properties. Michael started his property management career in 2003 with Oakland Community Housing as a Property Supervisor. Before his career change to affordable housing, he worked in the communications industry in a number of product and marketing roles with Telera/Genesys.

John Hinde Regional Vice President of Property Operations, Great Lakes

John Hinde is responsible for the oversight of the Great Lakes region including supervision of Mercy Housing’s portfolio located in Illinois and Wisconsin. John came to MHM with extensive experience in all aspects of the real estate business including acquisitions, accounting, finance, project management, development and property management of multi-family residential and commercial. His most recent position was with The Habitat Company as Vice President of Property Management where his portfolio included affordable and conventional multi-family and commercial properties in the Chicagoland area.

Shane West Regional Vice President of Property Operations, Mountain Plains

Shane West is the Regional Vice President of Property Operations for the Mountain Plains region including Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. Shane came to MHM with fifteen years of financial management experience in the commercial banking industry. His experience includes structuring affordable housing financing including LIHTC and double tax exempt, bank-qualified for various housing authorities. During this time, he also served as President/Treasurer for multiple affordable housing, non-profit entities.

Susan Sherfield Vice President – National Education & Employee Development

Susan started with Mercy Housing in March of 2008 as our National Director of Education. Over the last ten years Susan has been instrumental in developing a national education platform. Prior to Mercy Housing, Susan was a Regional Education Director with Equity Residential. She has worked in the Residential Property Management industry since 1987, in both on-site and multi-site operations roles. She earned her CPM designation in 1998 and completed her Master’s degree in Adult Education and Training in 2016. She has been very active in the National Apartment Association (NAA), and is now serving as the 2018 President of the National Apartment Association Education Institute (NAAEI). Susan is nationally recognized as a conference presenter, having spoken at the NAA Education Conference, and at other national and regional industry conferences, over the years. 

Jennifer PooleJennifer Poole National Director of Marketing

Jennifer Poole joined the team in 2016 as the National Director of Marketing for Mercy Housing Management Group. Jennifer oversees marketing efforts for the portfolio and supervises the completion of Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plans to ensure program compliance. Her team is also responsible for providing support to new developments and lease-ups to ensure occupancy expectations are met. Jennifer has thirteen years of experience in property management including ten years as a Regional Director supervising affordable and conventional assets throughout the United States. Prior to her career change to property management Jennifer was a Shareholder Operations Supervisor for Janus Mutual Funds.

MaryPat ParuszkiewiczMary Pat Paruszkiewicz Regional Vice President - Operations

Mary Pat joined the Mercy Housing team as an Area Director of Operations in Chicago in October, 2009, after managing and training in both affordable and conventional real estate arenas in the Midwest for over 20 years with AIMCO/Insignia. In April, 2016, Mary Pat’s responsibilities increased to include overseeing all staff training and managing the successful transition of the FMI and Cornerstone portfolios to Mercy Housing. Mary Pat has accepted the position of Regional Vice President and currently works with our portfolio in the Great Lakes Region that consists of properties throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana.
