Welcome Home to The Madonna Residences! The Madonna is a community comprised of 69 studio apartments for those
earning 30-40% tax credit (50% MOHCD) of the area median income in San Francisco. Originally built in the 2011, The Madonna is located near the Civic Center. Mercy Housing acquired the 5-story building with funding from the Internal Revenue Service’s Section 42 Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, HOME program, Project Based Rental Assistance through San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and Housing and Urban Development – Veterans Administration Supportive Housing.

The efficiently designed property is planned with an on-site resident services coordinator to provide programming and connect residents to resources including a food pantry and community celebrations.

There are also two programs providing services to the surrounding neighborhood at the Madonna: Steppingstone
Day health (for seniors and adults with disability), and St Francis living room (for low income seniors and homeless) onsite.
Madonna has enhanced care management (ECM) on site through Steppingstone and Mercy Housing Resident Services
can refer older tenants and tenants with disabilities if they want to join.
